Leadership Academy of Virginia is a student-centered microschool, located in Fredericksburg, Virginia. We are proud to welcome a diverse community of learners, ages 6-11. We believe, with intentional guidance, all students have the potential to reach their goals - and to realize their highest potential. Every student has unique abilities and needs; and therefore, deserve an educational platform that honors their individuality. We address this individual need in a community environment by customizing educational plans according to each student's needs and by creating a learning space that encourages exploration, discovery, self awareness and a sense of belonging.
Our program is designed to provide a well-rounded education consisting of a tailored learning path, self-paced learning, holistic development and real-world experiences. Our curriculum is designed to nurture "vertical" skills—maturity, wisdom, and self-awareness—alongside the "horizontal" academic competencies students will need for the future.
We believe social/emotional development is equally important as academic success. When foundational social/emotional skills aren't built into an educational plan, it increases the chances for imbalance and disruption of a student's learning progression.
